Genotypes and Phenotypes
Selection acting on the phenotype leads to evolutionary change because of how the organism is surviving. In other words, what is increasing their fitness? For example, if there are two organisms in one environment. Both look about the same but one can blend in better. So the predator can't see them as well so this leads to them reaching adulthood and reproduction. because this phenotype is surviving then those genotypes will also increase.
Hi Ameyali. I like your illustration and how you have described selection!
ReplyDeleteThis illustration is very good. I would have liked to see an actual example of genotype acting on the phenotype but the definition of it was perfect.
